How to Find Your Personal Style 5 Tips for Defining Your Style
450views

Following the latest fashion trends in Pakistan isn’t the key to looking great. It’s all about keeping to your own personal style. But what if you’re unsure about your personal style? You may develop your own unique style by seeking inspiration, creating a mood board, and experimenting with clothing.

What Is Personal Style, Exactly?

Style refers to an individual’s own way of expressing oneself, whether via clothes, literary style, or architectural style. In the fashion industry, “style” is usually shorthand for “personal style,” or how a person expresses themselves via aesthetic judgments such as clothing, accessories, hairstyle, and how they put an outfit together.

Fashion lasts a lifetime. A trendy individual may or may not follow fashion trends, but they are always true to their own unique style. Personal style is about developing a sense of self rather than simply absorbing trends.

How to Find Your Personal Style in 5 Simple Steps

Finding your own personal style does not happen overnight. There are, however, strategies you may use to learn more about the clothing that works best for you.

1- Examine your personal wardrobe.

Take a look at the clothes you own that make you happy. What are your favourite items in your closet? Take these items out and think about why they make you happy. Consider what they have in common.

2- Collect some fashion ideas.

Begin your search for fashion inspiration with relatives and acquaintances whose style you appreciate. Spend some time on social media looking at how your friends and celebrities dress, from casual wear like crop tops and leggings to work-appropriate jackets and turtlenecks.

Blogs are full of fashion advice and inspiration, so choose a few fashion bloggers whose styles you admire and browse their archives to uncover your favourite outfits. If you enjoy a celebrity’s or influencer’s style, attempt to find out who their stylist is and take inspiration from them. Fashion magazines are another excellent resource. Learn about many styles and identify the ones you most identify with.

3- Make an eye-catching mood board.

A mood board is an excellent approach to concentrate on building your own individual style. After you’ve gathered your fashion inspiration, create a mood board with the images. Even if your inspiration is dispersed, you may notice that a lot of your models are wearing denim jeans, maxi dresses, or ruffled shirts—and there’s an underlying feeling or atmosphere that you’re going for. Save two or three photographs that exemplify the group’s style on your phone so you may refer to them when shopping.

4- Create a capsule wardrobe.

A capsule wardrobe is a collection of necessities that can be combined and matched to create ensembles that are easy to put together. A little black dress, a denim jacket, simple T-shirts, and a leather bag are all timeless neutrals that go with everything. Some of these goods are likely already in your closet: Keep the items that make you joyful and replace the rest with tried-and-true staples. These items are simple, yet they will allow you to show off your own style by providing a foundation for more interesting pieces.

5-Experiment with various styles.

After you’ve put together your capsule wardrobe, it’s time to add one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect your own style. This may need some trial and error, but keep in mind that changing your opinion is fine. Personal style is all about experimenting with clothes to see which ones make you feel the most confident. Begin with colourful accessories and pops of colour, then play around with mixing and matching styles and materials.

Have a sufficient quantity of what you require.

Consider how often you stand in your closet, unable to pull together an outfit because your favourite jeans are at the dry cleaners or you JUST wore that stunning white tank. These are the items you require more of, not comparables, but identicals. I have three pairs of black Theory ankle pants since I wear them so much. I also have a plethora of dark blue wash skinny jeans, a plethora of pure white tanks, and at least three black crew neck cashmere sweaters.
