With the unfortunate rollout of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone’s Season 1 Reloaded, things have now settled and the devs have patched up game-breaking glitches. The good news is they’ve included some freebies to make up for it!
Here’s an overview of the most important new features in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 & Warzone Season 1 Reloaded and the freebies you can redeem.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 & Warzone Freebies
Call of Duty devs have extended the Double XP event to last until 24th January. This was issued to accommodate players who couldn’t log in or play after the update was released.
In addition to the extended event, COD devs also included 2XP tokens for the Battle Pass, Weapon, and Player Rank levels. These tokens last up to 1 hour each so it’s best to use them when you’re about to start a proper grind session.
The tokens will be awarded to players within 48 hours of logging in to Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone. Another thing to note is the tokens and Double XP events in Call of Duty don’t stack.
You can’t use the token consumable for 2XP and stack it for 4XP with the event. It will only record one instance of the 2XP gains. It’s best not to waste your tokens until after any 2XP events conclude.
The New Stuff in Season 1 Reloaded
New Map – Rio
One of the biggest additions is the new map, Rio, based in an ‘upscale’ mall in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The map is a 6v6 multiplayer arena with an urban setting surrounded by markets, shops, cafes, and tram stations.
The map gradually rises towards the centre where players can find a great vantage point to camp out.
New Game Modes – Team Gunfight, Headquarters, Infected
There are three new game modes added with Call of Duty Season 1 Reloaded:
- Team Gunfight – The new expanded Gunfight mode is a 6v6 battle that includes standard Multiplayer maps. Players receive a randomized loadout that changes during rounds.
- Headquarters – In Headquarters, players have to capture objectives and hold out against enemy combatants to accrue points. Defending teams can’t respawn as waves of attacking players come at them.
- Infected – In Infected, one player starts as the ‘infected’ and has to eliminate other players to infect them. The goal is to transform all players while uninfected Operators have to fend off the horde.
Two New Weapons – HRM-9 & TAQ Evolvere
COD Season 1 Reloaded adds two new weapons to the arsenal, a new SMG and LMG –
- HRM-9 SMG – The HRM-9 is a short-range, high-rate-of-fire SMG built for close-up encounters and run-and-gun tactics. This 9mm SMG is great for players who prefer light, quick weapons and speedy movement.
- TAQ Evolvere LMG – The TAQ Evolvere LMG is perfect for mowing down both human combatants and artillery. It can handle either 7.62mm or 5.56 rounds depending on your preference. To unlock the new LMG, complete any Weekly Challenge.
