Even though the Honor 70 has great cameras, powerful parts, and a beautiful screen, its battery life is the most impressive. Many of today’s top-of-the-line smartphones have such short battery lives that manufacturers make a big deal about how fast they charge.
The Honor 70 has both, to be fair. During my tests, the included battery lasted for three days without needing to be charged, and the included 66W charger could fully charge the battery in only 20 minutes. Amazing beyond words.
Camera trickery
So, let’s talk about the cameras on the Honor 70. In addition to the main 54-megapixel “Super Sensing” camera with an f/1.9 lens, there is also a 50-megapixel “Ultrawide” camera with a 122-degree field of view. A 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera could be fun for them to use together.
With a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front and a 12-megapixel main camera on the back, you can take clear photos from any angle. One cool thing about the Honor 70 is that it can record video with both the front and back cameras at the same time. This lets you make a picture-in-picture. For example, you could use the selfie camera to record yourself commenting on a sports game. Even though it works, it may be hard to keep yourself and your topic in mind simultaneously. You can also film with both the wide and regular cameras simultaneously.
The Honor 70 can record up to 30 frames per second of 4K video and 60 frames per second of Full HD video. If nothing else, you can only record in Full HD with two cameras at once is good for file size.
The honor 70 camera take good enough photos, but they won’t win any prizes. Portraits taken inside are especially impressive because the skin tones and depth of focus are so true to life. Close-up pictures can tell you a lot, but if you aren’t paying attention, it’s easy to miss what’s important. Don’t use the camera’s “AI” or “Beauty” settings because they make skin look too smooth, like in a cartoon, and cause other problems. You get the best results when you use the Pro or High-Resolution settings.
Smooth as silk
The refresh rate of the 6.67-inch OLED screen on the Honor 70 can go up to an impressive 120 hertz. This makes gaming and watching videos very smoothly. The front-facing camera goes through the top of the screen, and the fingerprint reader goes through the bottom.
When the brightness slider is to the top, the screen is tall, clear (2,400 x 1,080), and very bright. Even if you don’t care about saving battery life, dimming the screen to half brightness makes it easy to read outside.
This phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, just like the Honor 60. The phone can run demanding games like Genshin Impact smoothly and without lagging. But if you use the phone for a long time or play 3D games that require a lot of processing power, the phone might get too hot to hold. Not too hot, but warm enough to make your hands sweat. And that’s when the battery starts to lose power more quickly. We found that the battery life dropped by 15% after 30 minutes of Genshin Impact.
