364views

You will almost certainly do multiple choice quizzes and quizzes in your time. It is also possible to ask questions yourself. Then you probably already know how difficult it is to write effective questions.

It can be very easy to guess the answer if you’re not careful. In some cases, the questions can be difficult to understand. Sometimes it can be difficult to relate a question to the evaluation topic, in fact there are many ways a question can go wrong.

If you find yourself writing multiple choice questions, you can avoid problems with these questions by following four basic principles.

1. Start with goals

Effective multiple choice questions should always be linked to a clearly defined goal. Unless you write to answer fun questions. Be clear about what you are trying to measure. And make sure all your questions are focused on that. Avoid misleading questions unrelated to the goal. In the end, they couldn’t prove anything.

2. Clear and understandable

As a general rule, language and sentence structure should be as simple as possible. Use only the necessary specifications. Be sure to avoid questions, answers, and distractions. Remember that you are trying to test the objectives. It’s not people’s ability to understand poorly written questions.

3. No idea

Sometimes you can guess the correct answer from a question. The questioner may leave clues in questions, answers, or distractions that he doesn’t intend. One of the biggest mistakes people make when writing multiple choice questions is that they don’t provide a meaningful distraction. This means that the person answering the question can guess the correct answer by eliminating obvious wrong choices. Again, always remember that you are evaluating the objectives, not the candidate’s ability to correctly guess most of the answers.

4. Meaningful feedback

If your question is part of a NTS Mcqs, applicants should at least know whether they passed the test score. If a question is meant to help people learn a particular topic, they need to know whether their answers are right or wrong. They also need to know why they are right or wrong. Writing effective multiple choice questions is more helpful than short essay questions. However, you’ll get off to a good start if you stick to the four basic principles listed here.

Slightly remove the letters (A, B, C, etc.) if you know the answer is clearly wrong.
