
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts a national level RBI Grade B exam every year to recruit RBI assistants and support staff for various departments. This exam is regarded as one of the most difficult to pass in India. Thousands of students take this exam every year since the RBI offers good compensation and job security.
The RBI conducts the exam in three stages: preliminary, main, and final examinations, followed by an interview. On March 28, 2022, RBI issued a notification to recruit Grade B (general, DEPR, and DSIM) personnel for over 300 positions for the RBI Grade B exam 2022.
Note: The deadline for submitting an online application for the RBI Grade B exam 2022 is April 18, 2022.

RBI Grade B Exam Syllabus, Exam Pattern and Eligibility
The syllabus for the RBI Grade B exam 2022 is similar to that of other bank exams. The major sections in the syllabus are as follows:
- English language
- Reasoning
- General awareness
- Quantitative aptitude
In addition to these sections, the mains phase contains questions on finance, management, economic and social issues. Phase 1 or prelims comprises a single paper containing four sections of 200 marks that need to be completed within two hours. The mains or phase 2 test consists of three separate tests, two objectives and one descriptive. The interview phase involves a face-to-face interview with a panel of 4-5 bureaucrats or psychologists and carries 50 marks.

The minimum age limit for RBI Grade B exam 2022 is 21 years and the maximum is 30. For candidates with M. Phil and PhD degrees, the age limit is 32 and 34 years, respectively. Also, the age limit for reserved category candidates is different. A candidate from a general category can attempt the exam six times, while there is no limit for SC, ST, PWD, and EXSM candidates. Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD applicants) or post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PWD applicants) in all semesters is required for the post of officer in Grade B-General. For officers in Grade B-DEPR, a master’s degree in economics, mathematics, finance, or equivalent field with a minimum grade of 55% is a must. Candidates applying for officers in Grade B-DSIM should have a master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or related field with a 55% aggregate.

RBI Grade B Admit Card
The admit card for the RBI Grade B exam in 2022 will be released soon. Phase 1 and phase 2 admission cards will be released separately. Only those candidates who pass the phase 1 RBI Grade B exam 2022 will be eligible for the phase 2 admit card. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards online from the RBI website. Candidates should keep in mind that they will not receive admit cards by email or post.
