What Is The Process Like?
- The first step is to submit an exciting statement (EOI): You must use the Global Talent feedback form to indicate interest (EOI). Either you or a licensed migration agent can handle the process. Submission of an EOI does not require payment of any kind. To get this visa, you must submit a good EOI. If you are not successful, the application will be halted at this stage. The Immigration Department will review your EOI submission to see if you qualify for the GTI programme. There are two ways to get a unique identification from the Department of Homeland Security for the next step.
- Obtain a Distinguished Talent passport in the second step: After receiving a unique identity, the next step is to apply for one Distinguished Talent Superclass 858 visa. Subclass 858 visa applications will be accepted from within and outside Australia on November 14, 2020.
How long can you stay in Australia on this visa?
The GTI visa indeed seems to be a long-term visa.
You’ll be able to do the following:
- Working and living in Australia is an excellent choice. Permanently have access to the Australian healthcare system and travel to and from Australia.
If your visa isn’t ready yet, can you still work?
Waiting for your GTI visa looks at the current status of your application. For example:
- You can only work if you have another substantial visa with work privileges in the EOI stage. If your existing permit expires, you will become ineligible to work in the United States because of the EOI.
- If your EOI is approved, a Bridging Visa A (BVA) will be awarded to you. At the same time, in conjunction with your distinguishing talent visa, if you applied while your existing substantive key existed. There are no restrictions on working or studying in the United States after your current permit expires. Until you are on a substantive visa, you must follow the terms of your existing visa’s employment restrictions.
- Bridging Visa C is provided to those seeking an exceptional talent visa after their current substantive visa has expired (BVC). A “No work” condition (8101) is attached to this BVC, which is granted. You will be unable to work if the BVC has been placed under condition 8101. Because of your “compelling need to work,” you may be eligible to apply for an additional BVC without the condition.
