I am a writer and have written several book chapters and book reports as well as several articles. I am in the process of writing my first novel and will be starting to research for my next project in July. I do a lot of traveling and have a hard time lugging around bulky devices like laptops and tablets. The laptop that I currently use was provided by my employer, but I was looking for something with a higher-quality display than a 10-inch tablet can offer.
Dell XPS 13 9310
Who is this best suited for: People who like to carry around a laptop when they travel, but don’t want to lug around a larger machine. While the laptop is convenient, it isn’t as portable as a tablet or smartphone. However, the convenience of carrying a computer with you outweighs the small inconvenience of not having a larger computer. Those who want to purchase an ultrabook that will last a long time without breaking the bank. This laptop is one of the best 2 in 1 laptops for drawing
I started researching laptops from various online retailers and came across the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook. This ultrabook has a 13.4-inch, 1080p display, 1920 x 1200 resolution, Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB hard drive. It also has a built-in backlit keyboard, and three USB 3.0 ports. There is also a webcam on the right side as well as stereo speakers. In addition to these features, the XPS 13 has a magnesium alloy body, which is lighter than the aluminum material most other laptops have.
In terms of usability, the Dell XPS 13 is very similar to the Apple MacBook Pro. You can plug in an external monitor, a USB hard drive, and other devices easily using the two Thunderbolt 3 ports.
The trackpad is responsive and the keyboard keys are easy to use. You will also be able to easily connect your mouse to this laptop, but I do not recommend using the touchpad while doing so. The battery life was surprisingly good, lasting a full six hours, 30 minutes. When compared with the Apple MacBook Pro 15” model, I believe that the Dell XPS 13 has more computing power, longer battery life, and a much better display.
Overall, the Dell XPS 13 is a great device for writers and artists. It has a solid display that is sharper than a 10-inch tablet display and is slightly lighter than many 14-inch laptops. However, it is significantly heavier than most other laptops with similar size displays. Despite its bulkier appearance, this ultrabook feels solid and stable. It is also very easy to transport because it does not require a bag or case. If your budget is low, do consider the best 2 in 1 laptop under $300.
Bottom Line: The Dell XPS 13 is a great, durable, and lightweight option for those who are looking for an ultra-slim laptop. While it lacks certain features that you may find on larger models, it offers a great display that is much better than that of most tablets and a sleek, solid design.
